Opening the doors again

Updated: Sep 19, 2020

What an amazing August we have had. Diversification and being open to new challenges has been the key to getting people active at Skern Lodge this past month.

Opening the front field to camping and many of the rooms on booking.com have ensured that our staff team have been kept busy during the holidays.

September brings new challenges as the schools reopen fully and children return to the classroom. But school residential trips are still on hold, so we have to remain creative.

Festival time!

We're hosting the socially distanced drive-in - Appledore Book Festival.

Watch from the comfort of your car as a host of authors and celebrities share and promote their latest books on stage. Tickets are still on sale but selling out fast. It could be the North Devon event of the year.

On the road

As some of our customers can't come to us, we are going to them. We are heading out to a few schools to take some of that residential magic into the classroom. The vans will be filled with lots of engaging activities and exercises and our enthused team of tutors. Each school has provided us with a framework and we have designed an active programme for the day. If this is something your school would be interested in, give us a call.

It's not just schools getting involved. We have also got a number of apprentice and graduate programmes running throughout September and into the remainder of the year. Some are based away at their location, others are heading down to Devon for the full on residential experience. Our behaviour programmes are designed to meet your company or organisation values. With a balanced mix of practical and theoretical content, your new recruits following their time with the Skern tutors leave with a clear developmental action plan for the next six months.

Residential trips are still going on

We are also looking forward to welcoming a number of universities for the autumn. Each is coming for their own individual, tailored programme to meet the various modules they have set for their students. Whether it's undergraduate PE teachers looking into the transformative experience of an outdoor residential, or a full on 30-hour active programme looking at leadership and management, our experienced staff team are staying on top of their skills to deliver these high quality programmes.

We can't wait to see schools back at the centre and a sense of normality returning to the outdoor industry. 2020 has been a challenge for everyone, but we have also seen a summer full of opportunity.

The coming year is looking positive with schools eager to return with increased numbers.

We're going to need more space to accommodate them, so keep watching here for our future plans.

The Skern campsite, with one of the best views in North Devon.

When it comes to completing a college essay, the best site to write my paper are those that offer good customer service, plagiarism-free content, and multiple free revisions. The writers at these services have a solid academic and professional background, and you'll receive a plagiarism report upon request. Their customer support representatives are courteous and fast. They offer free samples of their work, and your content will be delivered within three hours to fourteen days.

If you are looking to hire a professional writer to create your resume, resumesplanet.com is a great choice. Not only is the service price-friendly, but it also has a user-friendly website. The company offers a variety of special deals to attract new customers. There are also discounts for loyal customers. However, there are several things you should keep in mind before using resumesplanet.com, such as the lack of real resumesplanet com reviews. You can also be disappointed with the company's weak FAQ section.
