We have some fantastic programmes available this summer to help families and children get back outdoors and enjoy a sense of adventure.
We have teamed up with our sister company Camp Beaumont, who have been operating for 40 years in the south east around London offering day summer camps for children during the school holidays. This year in partnership with Skern they are offering a week residential summer camp during two weeks of the August holidays. There are two programmes open to children age 8 - 11 years and 12 - 14 years. These exciting programmes will see the younger group undertaking a coastal explorer's programme, offering a range of coastal adventure activities, from kayaking, powerboating, seashore trails and coastal traversing. The older age group, will be feasting on a week of activities called surf & turf. They will be at the beach every day surfing the waves on a variety of craft and also having the opportunity to challenge themselves on a range of land based activities so they don't grow webbed feet!
We also have launched two new offerings for the summer, one for families and one just for children. Our Family Activity Days are also ideal for small groups to take part in a range of activities programmed throughout the summer holidays. Families can choose a morning, afternoon or full day of adventure and be guided by their instructor on their chosen activity. With such a busy summer including our already organised residential bookings, we have limited spaces and we are already seeing any availability that we do have being snapped up.
The same goes for our new summer holiday programme for children called Appledore Adventure Club at Skern. The programme runs from 26th July through to the 3rd September offering half days, full days and full week options. We've some exciting activities being added to our summer programmes including camp craft & power boating along with the old favourite, The Big 6. Offering six activities in one great day!
Appledore Adventure Club has been approved by Ofsted, which also means we can now accept childcare vouchers for this programme, allowing us to support more working parents in the knowledge that their child is in safe hands.
So along with some family activity stays, police cadets, various children's homes, sports tours, some weekend stag and hen parties and several development training programmes being run away at some of our sister centres, the staff team here are gearing up for a very busy summer.
The word summer immediately reminds me of a little tradition I have with my girlfriend. We go on vacation somewhere every summer. This year we might have broken the tradition because I lost my job.
